Job Overview

At WSP, you can always find opportunities to grow and do what matters to you. Digital is changing the way we deliver and will help the Water industry achieve AMP8 delivery targets. Emerging technologies such as Generative Design, Artificial Intelligence, Digital Twins and advanced analytics will transform our industry to deliver more sustainable, high‑quality outcomes. We support clients who push the boundaries of technology to increase productivity and deliver real efficiencies throughout the asset lifecycle, including operations, strategy, planning, design, procurement and build stages.

The Digital Consultant will play a crucial role in driving digital transformation and innovation within our team. This position is essential for identifying opportunities for process improvement and automation, recommending and integrating digital tools, and ensuring alignment with team and business goals. You will challenge our teams’ approach to how they work, and support them to adopt and embed digital tools, improving integration between the software packages they use.

The role will support solution development, provide technical support, facilitate training and documentation, and foster a culture of innovation.

Responsibilities
  • Use Python to automate repeatable tasks, transform datasets, validate data quality, or prototype logic that complements low‑code solutions.
  • Build and enhance SharePoint Online sites, lists, libraries and metadata structures to support digital workflows and document/data management.
  • Develop and maintain Power Automate flows (approvals, notifications, data movement, scheduled jobs, governance‑friendly automation).
  • Support data visualisation through tools such as Power

BI, including data manipulation in Power Query, and working with stakeholders to communicate insights.
  • Help run discovery sessions with teams to understand pain points in delivery and collaborate to develop solutions.
  • Support teams with clear documentation, tested scripts, and maintainable solutions.
Qualifications
  • Undergraduate or higher Degree in a relevant discipline, or equivalent professional experience and qualifications.
  • Good knowledge of programming languages and data integration tools such as Python, FME, and others.
  • Appreciation and awareness of a variety of programming languages, visualisation, modelling and automation packages and their interoperability.
  • Experience in managing data and using data to drive decision making.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively understand team requirements and influence behaviours, fostering a culture of innovation.
What We Offer
  • Work‑life balance: hybrid working policy offering flexibility to work from home two days a week, with opportunities to collaborate in modern offices.
  • Inclusivity & belonging: welcome applicants with varied backgrounds and encourage authenticity and inclusion.
  • Health & wellbeing:
Thrive programme, Virtual GP service, reasonable workplace adjustments, Gymflex scheme (up to 40% off gym memberships), and a comprehensive menopause support package.
  • Flex your time: “WSP My Hour” allows one hour each day for personal activities.
  • Part‑time and flexible working arrangements, option to purchase additional leave, and use of bank holiday entitlement.
