Overview
Balfour Beatty are looking for an Information Manager to join their Power T&D Division. Based in Scotland.
Role
Purpose:
Responsible for establishing governance and assuring data and information flow to and from the common data environments (CDE). Reviewing Employers Information Requirements (EIR) then producing and maintaining BIM Execution Plans (BEP), Information Management Plans and other related documents (MIDP for example).
The Information Manager will manage the Common Data Environment, ensuring all project information is available and up to date. They will encourage collaborative working, information exchange and aid the project team throughout. The Information Manager has no design related duties.
Responsibilities- Scope of Role: 70% Information Management, 10% Analysis, 20% Improvement (anecdotal percentages).
- BIM Scope:
Manage information for one or more projects; comply with role scope for relevant accreditation (ISO
19650). - Task Team Manager: appoint Task Team IM roles; own the Task Information Delivery Plan (TIDP) and ensure correct execution; review and approve information produced by the Task Team against the task brief; consult Employerr Representative on customer-required standards, methods and procedures; work with the Design/Construction Lead on defining the Volume Strategy and assigning appropriate Level of definition; document and validate Information Requirements with the lead Supplier
IR(s). - Accountabilities:
Create and execute the BEP and IMP; maintain and support task teams with MIDP and TIDP; ensure Asset Information Requirements are planned for and managed; manage and communicate information exchange processes on projects through the CDE and ensure compliance; report progress of information development and exchange as defined in the IMP; attend project meetings as needed; confirm supplierbility to deliver information requirements;
liaise with project team members and the Employer to support collaborative working; provide coaching/assistance on the implementation of the chosen CDE.
- BSc, MSc, BEng, MEng, HND/HDC or qualified by experience with understanding and proven delivery of infrastructure or building management across multiple processes/schemes.
- NVQ – Level 5 or 2-5 years of project/industry experience.
- Understanding of ISO 19650 series information management guidelines.
- Good communication skills (spoken & written) and ability to form effective relationships with project stakeholders.
- Strong technical ability with digital software applications; experience in training others; and analytical capability.
- Ability to work under time pressure and collaborate with project teams, supply chain partners and customers.
- Keen to learn, develop and support members of the digital team.
- Professional membership.
- Autodesk and GIS application experience.
- Strong Excel and/or Power BI capability.
- Power Infrastructure experience.
