Our ideal candidate is a Senior Shopify Developer with strong JavaScript skills and hands‑on Shopify Plus experience who excels at taking clear tech requirements and turning them into reliable, production‑ready code. You care about performance, accessibility, and maintainability, and you’re comfortable working within established patterns and guardrails.

As a Senior Shopify Developer, you will build apps, checkout extensions, and storefront improvements for complex ecommerce projects. You’ll work closely with a Tech Lead who defines approach and acceptance criteria; your focus is execution quality—writing clean code, communicating progress clearly, and raising risks early with practical options.

• Write clean and semantic code, emphasizing performance, usability, and accessibility.
• Implement features from Tech Requirements and scoped tickets using approved patterns and templates.
• Build and enhance Shopify Functions, Checkout UI Extensions, and storefront features (Liquid/JavaScript/React as needed).
• Provide targeted feedback on Tech Requirements; ask clarifying questions to close gaps.
• Surface technical risks and unknowns early; propose simpler alternatives when appropriate.
• Identify and develop reusable patterns with component‑based code that is clearly documented.
• Present work and solutions to clients as needed, explaining technical choices in plain language.
• Collaborate with a cross‑functional team including developers, designers, strategists, and project managers.
• Stay up to date and make recommendations regarding new web development technologies.
• Work in agile sprints and participate in daily project stand‑ups (via Zoom).

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION

• 5–8+ years professional web development experience.
• 3+ years of Shopify Plus development experience and latest related technologies:
  • Shopify APIs (e.g. Ajax, Graph
    
    QL, Section Rendering APIs)
  • Liquid templating
• 3+ years of experience with modern development practices:
  • Modern JavaScript (ES6, Web components, etc.)
  • Modern CSS (CSS Grid, CSS Variables, etc.)
• Agency experience.
• 1+ years applying accessibility and performance best practices.
• 1+ years integrating and working with third‑party APIs and Shopify Apps.
• 1+ years participating in agile sprints and daily stand‑ups.
• Hands‑on experience with Checkout Extensibility and Shopify Functions.
• Experience developing with Shopify CLI.
• Proficiency in version control and collaborative development using Git (Git Hub).

SOFT SKILLS

• Able to translate clear Tech Requirements into reliable code and communicate blockers early.
• Comfortable presenting work and explaining trade‑offs to non‑technical stakeholders.
• Confident negotiating practical compromises between requirements, budget, user experience, and best practices.
• Open to collaboration with Design, Strategy, and Project Management.
• Interested in sharing knowledge and contributing ideas that improve outcomes for clients and the team.
