Who we are looking forWe are looking for a highly skilled Word Press and front-end developer capable of building, optimizing, and maintaining custom websites with strong technical accuracy and reliability. The ideal candidate excels in problem-solving, clear communication, and delivering high-quality work within scope and deadlines. Fluency in English and French is required.
Key responsibilities- Building, implementing, and launching new Word Press sites, themes, and custom functionalities based on design specifications.
- Performing regular updates, backups, security audits, and troubleshooting all site issues (e.g., broken plugins, theme conflicts, slow performance).
- Writing clean, optimized, and well-documented JavaScript and CSS to create seamless user experiences and interactive components.
- Conducting code reviews, ensuring adherence to coding standards, and minimizing technical debt.
- Monitoring site speed, implementing caching strategies, and optimizing assets to ensure high scores on Google Page Speed Insights and Core Web Vitals.
- Working closely with graphic designers, marketing teams, and content creators to ensure project goals and deadlines are met.
- Maintaining plugin updates on a monthly basis for our VIP clients.
- Handling on-demand requests from customers, accurately scoping work, and respecting time estimates.
- Responsible for acknowledging customer issues and handling tasks within estimate and budget.
- High communication skills and standards to internal stakeholders.
- Manage, maintain the company's customers maintenance and vip customers high priority support on their websites.
- Crucial for ensuring optimal website performance, implementing new features, and translating design concepts into high-quality, responsive user interfaces.
- Handling Spin Up deployment and website backup, managing environment setup and optimization.
- Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in front-end web development, focusing on Content Management Systems (CMS) and custom coding.
- A strong portfolio demonstrating successful Word Press projects, custom theme development, and responsive design.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to articulate technical issues to non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience building and maintaining wordpress plugins.
- Fluency in both English and French.
Word Press Ecosystem
- Deep knowledge of the Word Press core, database structure, themes, and plugin architecture, Web SEO.
- Proven ability to build, modify, and maintain custom Word Press themes and plugins from scratch (avoiding reliance on page builders where custom code is required).
- Experience with site migration, performance optimization (caching, asset loading), and implementing security best practices.
- Experience with building websites with client-facing features such as e-commerce stores (e.g., Woo Commerce) or service providers.
- Proven experience with no code builders such as Elementor, Wordpress Gutenberg, Divi etc…)
Front-End Development
- Expert-level proficiency in HTML5, CSS
3. - Strong command of vanilla JavaScript (ES6+), including DOM manipulation and asynchronous programming (Promises, Async/Await).
- Flawless implementation of responsive and mobile-first design principles.
Back-End Integration
- Proficient knowledge of PHP, specifically within the Word Press context (hooks, filters, object-oriented principles, and the Word Press REST API).
- Working knowledge of MySQL/Maria
DB for database management and query optimization. - Mandatory experience using Git for version control and collaboration.
- Expertise in using browser developer tools for efficient debugging, performance profiling, and ensuring cross-browser compatibility.
The schedule is full-time, Monday to Friday during regular business hours, in compliance with BC labor laws.
Salary: $75K - $95K based on experience and qualifications.
