Salary: £60,000 per annum
Location: Hybrid role – remote work with regular collaboration in our Derby office at least three days per week. (Applicants must have the right to work in the UK; we are unable to offer visa sponsorship.)
Contract Type: Permanent
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday - Friday.
What will you be getting up to?As Test Lead, you’ll take ownership of our testing strategy and lead a talented team to ensure the quality and reliability of our software. You’ll work closely with developers, business analysts, and project managers to deliver high-quality outcomes across multiple projects.
Key Responsibilities- Lead & Inspire:
Manage and mentor a team of testers, creating a collaborative, results-driven environment. - Crate and champion an automation strategy to take Motorpoint to the next stage of its technological evolution.
- Allocate tasks, monitor progress, and ensure timely delivery of testing activities.
- Shape our testing approach:
Define and maintain test strategies, plans, and schedules aligned with project goals. - Drive best practices across manual and automated testing.
- Deliver quality:
Oversee functional, regression, integration, and UAT testing. - Manage defect lifecycle using tools such as Azure Dev Ops.
- Provide clear reporting on test progress, risks, and quality metrics.
- Collaborate & Communicate:
Work closely with developers and stakeholders to clarify requirements. - Participate in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.
- Innovate & Improve:
Identify opportunities for automation and performance testing. - Champion continuous improvement in QA processes.
- Proven experience in software testing and QA leadership roles.
- Strong knowledge of manual and automation testing (e.g., Selenium, Postman).
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum and SDLC/STLC processes.
- Proficiency in test management tools (Azure Dev Ops).
- Solid understanding of SQL and ability to query databases.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- ISTQB certification (Advanced) is desirable.
- Experience with Spec Flow, BDD, API testing, and CI/CD pipelines is a plus.
