Salary: £60,000 per annum

Location: Hybrid role – remote work with regular collaboration in our Derby office at least three days per week. (Applicants must have the right to work in the UK; we are unable to offer visa sponsorship.)

Contract Type: Permanent

Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday - Friday.

As Test Lead, you’ll take ownership of our testing strategy and lead a talented team to ensure the quality and reliability of our software. You’ll work closely with developers, business analysts, and project managers to deliver high-quality outcomes across multiple projects.

• Lead & Inspire:
  Manage and mentor a team of testers, creating a collaborative, results-driven environment.
• Crate and champion an automation strategy to take Motorpoint to the next stage of its technological evolution.
• Allocate tasks, monitor progress, and ensure timely delivery of testing activities.
• Shape our testing approach:
  Define and maintain test strategies, plans, and schedules aligned with project goals.
• Drive best practices across manual and automated testing.
• Deliver quality:
  Oversee functional, regression, integration, and UAT testing.
• Manage defect lifecycle using tools such as Azure Dev Ops.
• Provide clear reporting on test progress, risks, and quality metrics.
• Collaborate & Communicate:
  Work closely with developers and stakeholders to clarify requirements.
• Participate in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.
• Innovate & Improve:
  Identify opportunities for automation and performance testing.
• Champion continuous improvement in QA processes.

• Proven experience in software testing and QA leadership roles.
• Strong knowledge of manual and automation testing (e.g., Selenium, Postman).
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum and SDLC/STLC processes.
• Proficiency in test management tools (Azure Dev Ops).
• Solid understanding of SQL and ability to query databases.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• ISTQB certification (Advanced) is desirable.
• Experience with Spec Flow, BDD, API testing, and CI/CD pipelines is a plus.
