Business Systems Technical Lead – FCC
Role &Key Responsibilities
From your first day you will be part of a policing family making a real difference. The role will ensure that the Force Command Centre operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week, implementing system changes in a controlled manner and providing help and guidance to all colleagues.
You will supervise and support the Business Systems Team, lead day‑to‑day activities and follow strategic plans set by the Business Systems Manager.
Responsibilities include coordinating tasks, sharing knowledge, supporting team development, providing hands‑on technical input, supporting colleagues, and contributing to system improvements.
Skills & Experience- Educated to A-Level or equivalent in a related subject (e.g. IT, Computer Science, Systems Engineering).
- Specialist technical knowledge gained through relevant and practical experience, demonstrated by delivering high‑standard projects and developing business processes.
- Experience gained within a contact environment – preferably Police or Law Enforcement, or a commercial IT environment.
- Proven experience in managing and optimising technical systems in high‑demand operational environments.
- Line‑managing technical staff, with the ability to motivate and develop others.
- Understanding of system lifecycle management, including configuration, integration and performance monitoring.
- Supporting strategic system planning and contributing to technical project delivery.
- Ability to communicate technical concepts to non‑technical audiences and stakeholders.
- Familiarity with SaaS platforms, CRM/contact management systems and call‑handling technologies.
- Working in a regulated environment with knowledge of data protection, cybersecurity and compliance standards.
- Collaborative working across departments and external suppliers.

Note: The starting salary will usually be at the bottom of the salary range and will be pro‑rata if working hours are less than full time.
