The Data Insights Team plays a critical role in enabling data‑driven decision‑making across the organisation. We deliver high‑impact analytics, build scalable data products, and foster a culture of insight‑led thinking. Our work supports strategic priorities and helps elevate analytical maturity across Aberdeen.
About the RoleAs a Lead Analyst, you will lead complex analytical projects, mentor junior team members, and act as a trusted partner to stakeholders. This role blends hands‑on technical delivery with leadership and team enablement, helping embed a data‑driven culture and drive continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities- Lead delivery of complex analytics projects, ensuring outputs are robust, scalable, and aligned with business needs.
- Build and optimise Power BI dashboards and data models using advanced DAX, SQL, and/or Python.
- Translate data into actionable insights through compelling narratives and visualisations.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to shape technical solutions and communicate outcomes clearly.
- Ensure analytics outputs meet governance, privacy, and compliance standards.
- Promote reusable data assets and support documentation of data definitions.
- Mentor Analysts and Senior Analysts, fostering a collaborative and high‑performing team culture.
- Champion best practices and explore emerging technologies like AI to enhance insight generation.
- Strong proficiency in DAX, SQL and/or Python.
- Experience developing and optimising Power BI dashboards and data models.
- Solid understanding of data architecture and modelling principles.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Fabric and cloud‑based data platforms (desirable).
- Knowledge of data governance and compliance standards.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Proven ability to lead, mentor, and drive continuous improvement.
