As a Datacenter Specialist, you should be passionate about all areas of data center infrastructure. You will be an essential member of our dynamic team of experts supporting the company's streaming services.

You will help operate, maintain, and develop our Datacenters, Server and Network Infrastructure, while contributing to projects that extend capacity and connectivity. Your technical expertise will play a key role in ensuring the stable operations of our service and scaling our infrastructure.

Last but not least, you can play a key role in helping to transition our services to carbon‑neutrality and allow us to fully live up to our core value of Sustainability, by identifying CO₂ emitters and finding alternative solutions in hosting, powering and distribution.

At Zattoo we are building the TV platform of the future, and our growing Operations team controls the whole IPTV chain from satellite and Multicast ingest through hosting hundreds of servers, petabyte‑scale storage and Tbps‑scale streaming over our own network and CDN. There are many exciting areas to work on and to push TV to a new level.

• Manage the operation, maintenance, and renewal of the entire high‑availability datacenter infrastructure
• Install and expand hardware and its cabling - e.g. servers and switches
• Execute hardware troubleshooting and replacement
• Manage all patches within the datacenter - fiber optic, copper, etc.
• Participate in conversions to optimize and expand the datacenters
• Document the datacenter inventory - e.g. cabling, location of servers, etc.
• Conduct required night maintenance (< 5% total work time)
• Emergency work during incidents
• Perform day‑to‑day maintenance on servers, e.g. Debian/Linux installation
• Optional:
  Configure switches

• Experience in operation, installation, and troubleshooting in all areas of a datacenter
• Proven knowledge of hardware installation and operations (power, and optical fiber cross‑connects)
• Understanding basic cooling and electrical skills
• Understanding of fiber optical cables and standards
• Experience as a datacenter specialist, systems administrator, or operations position, ideally operating a high‑traffic service or hosting provider
• Comfortable working with remote colleagues, multidisciplinary teams, and external partners
• Fluent verbal and written English language skills
• Basic knowledge of Linux

• Experience with Linux

• Basic training in electrical engineering
• Fundamental understanding of the Internet and modern web services (e.g. http(s), TCP/IP, Streaming)
