Chief Technology Officer

At Sourcefin, we make purchase order funding and invoice discounting easy for South Africa's forgotten SMMEs. As CTO, you'll shape the technology strategy that powers this mission — leading innovation, scalability, and security across our fintech platforms. You'll build and mentor a high-performing team while steering Sourcefin's transformation into an AI-native, data-driven organisation.

Technology Strategy & Leadership

• Define and execute Sourcefin's technology vision and roadmap to align with business growth.

• Drive innovation in fintech solutions and ensure Sourcefin remains a digital lending leader.

• Oversee the design, architecture, and delivery of scalable, high-performance platforms.

• Identify emerging technologies to enhance Sourcefin's competitive edge.

Technical Execution & Product Development

• Lead full product lifecycle from ideation to deployment, using Agile and Dev Sec Ops  practices.

• Ensure secure, modular, and efficient financial systems that integrate via APIs and cloud services.

• Oversee product scalability and reliability as Sourcefin expands across South Africa.

Governance, Security & Compliance

• Maintain compliance with POPIA, ISO
  27001, GDPR, and PCI-DSS standards.

• Implement cybersecurity frameworks and risk management policies.

• Oversee data governance, disaster recovery, and business continuity strategies.

Leadership & Collaboration

• Build, mentor, and inspire the Tech & Data team — software engineers, analysts, and IT leads.

• Partner with EXCO and business leads to ensure alignment of technology and strategy.

• Communicate Sourcefin's technology vision to stakeholders, investors, and regulators.

Infrastructure & Optimisation

• Oversee IT infrastructure, cloud solutions, and enterprise architecture for scalability.

• Lead adoption of AI, data analytics, and automation to unlock efficiency.

• Drive continuous improvement in system reliability, data management, and user experience.

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.

• 10+ years of technology leadership experience, ideally in fintech or financial services.

• Proven experience leading digital transformation and large-scale software development.

• Strong knowledge of cloud computing (AWS, Azure, or GCP).

• Background in cybersecurity, data governance, and compliance.

• Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.

• Strategic thinker with a hands-on approach to solving complex technical challenges.
