Application Architect - REMOTE

Take the lead on high-impact digital transformation projects with our Yellowknife-based client. We are seeking a skilled Solutions Architect for an initial 3-month contract, with a strong possibility of an extension, to drive the analysis and design of critical software solutions. Operating in a fully remote capacity, you will play a central role in modernizing essential public services, ranging from digital archiving to social sector case management.

Responsibilities

• Develop comprehensive application architectures and strategies to meet specific business requirements.

• Analyze and evaluate alternative technology options to solve complex organizational problems.

• Lead requirements gathering sessions and workshops with stakeholders and technical teams.

• Conduct research into product markets to identify solutions that align with industry trends.

• Define and document interfaces between manual operations, automated sub-systems, and external systems.

• Perform architectural modeling to ensure new designs remain consistent with existing frameworks.

• Create detailed business cases, technical documentation, and presentations for executive review.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 7 years of professional experience in an IT planning and architectural role.

• Proven background in business process mapping and functional requirement analysis.

• Prior experience planning large-scale technology initiatives within the public sector.

• Familiarity with digital archive standards, such as the Open Archival Information System (OAIS).

• Professional certification in TOGAF or an equivalent enterprise architecture framework.
