Remote Fix Technician

The NCA Service Desk team have a singular focus on making sure that we are doing everything possible to minimising the amount of lost clinical and operational time owing to incidents relating to users' access to IT services, systems and equipment. As a member of this team you'll need a relentless focus on customers' needs and an analytical approach to incident management.

We are looking for someone who has experience managing IT issues, including system accounts, applications and hardware and can provide excellent customer service. The successful candidate will also need to have analytical skills to help drive continual improvement in the team and be continually checking if we are meeting the customers' needs.

Main duties of the job

As a member of the Service Desk you will be accountable for minimising the amount of lost clinical and operational time owing to incidents relating to users' access to IT services, systems and equipment. Having a singular focus on making sure that we are doing everything possible to get colleagues back up and running quickly and simply whenever and wherever anything goes wrong.

Person Specification Qualifications
  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in or in an IT related subject or equivalent experience
  • GCSE English and Maths (grade A-C, or 4 and above)
  • ITIL Foundation
  • MSCE
  • MCP
Knowledge
  • Knowledge of IT Hardware such as PCs, tablets and printers
  • Proven ability to facilitate the installation of IT systems and equipment
  • An excellent understanding of Microsoft Operating systems and applications
  • Computer literate:
    Microsoft Office and the ability to utilise varied information resources
  • Possess an understanding of IT Service Delivery
  • Knowledge of IT policies and procedures including IT security and disaster recovery
  • Expert Knowledge in IT and technology fields
  • Knowledge of the use of information systems within the NHS
Skills & Abilities
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey complex technical concepts in plain language
  • Able to work under pressure
  • Able to work individually or as part of a team
  • Service-orientated, customer-focused
  • Flexible approach to work outside normal office hours, when and if the need arises
Other
  • Ability to travel across sites as part of the service need
