• Strong analytical and quantitative skills with experience working with large and complex datasets.
• Proficiency in SQL and familiarity with a programming language for data analysis and automation.
• Experience with data visualisation tools such as Metabase, Amplitude, or similar.
• Ability to build dashboards and reports that effectively communicate insights and support data-driven decisions.
• Understanding of financial markets and a genuine interest in cryptocurrency and blockchain technologies.
• High attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy, consistency, and quality.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to translate data findings into clear, actionable insights for technical and non-technical audiences.
• Collaborative mindset with experience working across functions such as Product, Marketing, Growth, Compliance, and Operations.
• Curiosity, initiative, and a proactive approach to improving data processes, systems, and tools.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, remote-first environment and adapting to evolving priorities.
• A tertiary qualification in a quantitative, analytical, or technical field (e.g., Finance, Economics, Data Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or Computer Science) is preferred but not a requirement.

• Build and maintain high-quality dashboards, automated reports, and data models that enable decision-making across the organisation.
• Analyse trading, blockchain, and customer data to generate insights that support Product, Growth, Marketing, Operations, Compliance, Support, and Risk teams.
• Summarise and communicate key business metrics, including customer activity, platform assets, trading volumes, liquidity, deposits, and withdrawals, to leadership and stakeholders.
• Partner with Business to analyse order book dynamics, spreads, slippage, and liquidity depth to optimise market performance.
• Develop financial and operational models to track and forecast trading volumes, fees, and revenue.
• Collaborate with Risk and Compliance to identify anomalies, strengthen monitoring, and uphold financial and data integrity.
• Conduct in-depth analyses of user acquisition, retention, and engagement to inform product strategy and drive growth.
• Measure marketing campaign performance, customer journeys, and conversion funnels to optimise ROI.
• Collaborate with the Engineering and Data teams to ensure data accuracy, reliability, and timeliness across all systems.
• Drive improvements in data infrastructure, tooling, and pipelines to enhance scalability and access to analytics.
• Support new feature launches and experiments by designing hypotheses, A / B tests, and impact analyses.
• Prepare executive-level reports highlighting market trends, platform performance, and strategic opportunities.
• Support regulatory and audit reporting through accurate, transparent data documentation.
• Promote a data-driven culture by mentoring peers and empowering teams to use analytics effectively.
• Stay ahead of emerging trends in crypto and blockchain analytics to advance VALR's data capabilities.
