Senior PL​/SQL Developer - Full Remote - Contractor in USD

For an international project in Chennai, we are urgently looking for a Senior PL/SQL Developer for Database Design & Architecture and PL/SQL Development.

We are looking for a contractor. Candidates need to be fluent in English.

Tasks and responsibilities:
Logical and physical data modeling using normalization and denormalization techniques;
Metadata management, master data management, and governance processes;
Design of scalable OLTP (transaction processing) and OLAP (analytical processing) systems;
Strong command in data warehousing concepts, including star/snowflake schema design;
Architecture-level understanding of data integration across heterogeneous systems;
Writing efficient stored procedures, functions, packages, triggers, and anonymous blocks;
Extensive use of cursors and  for complex data processing;
Proficient in bulk processing techniques – Bulk Collect, FORALL (bulk binding), and array DML for performance optimization;
Implementation of exception handling and error logging mechanisms;
Use of collections (associative arrays, nested tables, VARRAYs) and advanced PL/SQL;

Profile:
Bachelor or Master degree;
+8 years of relevant experience and bachelor's degree plus required industry certificates;
Experienced IT professional working on large data and reporting applications as well a strong understanding of Operational data stores, Data Warehouses and/or Data Marts;
Proficient in PL/SQL and ability to read data models, infer data flows and write complex queries;
Expertise in writing, debugging, and maintaining complex stored procedures, functions, packages, triggers, cursors, and exception handling;

Experience with advanced concepts like BULK COLLECT, FORALL, pipelined functions, user-defined data types (collections, nested tables, arrays, records), and dynamic SQL (DDL and DML);
Mastery of complex SQL queries, subqueries, inline views, and analytical functions. Proven experience in performance tuning using tools and techniques such as EXPLAIN PLAN, TKPROF, SQL Trace, and optimizer hints;
Proficient in creating and managing database objects including tables, views, indexes, sequences, synonyms, constraints, and materialized views. Strong understanding of database design methodology, normalization/de-normalization, and data modeling;
Strong proficiency in Oracle Database versions (10g, 11g, 12c, and newer);

Experience with TOAD, SQL Developer, and other productivity tools;
Familiarity with No

SQL database concepts and integration into enterprise solutions;
Exposure to cloud-based data solutions, particularly Microsoft Azure stack (Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse, Azure SQL Database).
Hands-on UNIX/Linux skills for scripting and job automation;
Adept in database migration, upgrades, and environment setup;
Fluent in English;
