Position:
Certification Specialist - Responsible for validating that new products and integrations comply with Card Association rules and internal compliance standards.
- Provide technical support to the product group and merchants on new products and integrations.
- Attend walkthroughs of solutions and provide technical feedback and guidance to the product group.
- Prepare customized POS test scripts for each solution.
- Generate test scripts and verify results from test execution.
- Act as a subject matter expert for new certifications.
- Assist external developers in fixing variances.
- Provide training and create documentation for all business units on certified solutions.
- Perform pilot monitoring and analysis prior to rollout of certified solutions.
- Provide status reporting to the manager as required.
- Provide technical advice, support and guidance to developers and the Product Team.
- Develop and manage relationships with POS developers, third‑party processors, project managers, sales and other business areas.
- Coordinate testing with partner company technicians to implement quality assurance procedures before deployment of the POS system, and continue testing during system use.
- Test and analyze POS systems with test plans, test kits and test cards; execute tests against compliance requirements of Master Card, Visa, debit, American Express, Discover and other card issuers.
- Duplicate scenarios during test execution; analyze, investigate, and report specific defects to developers.
- Analyze situations that may create future problems or operational issues and make appropriate recommendations.
- Other projects or tasks, as needed.
- Remote position; must be based in the GTA for easy access to Toronto business locations.
- High school diploma and post‑secondary education or experience.
- 1–3 years of experience in a similar role.
- Bi‑lingual (French / English) required.
- Ability to follow all company and departmental policies and procedures to ensure consistency.
- Ability to investigate and assess issues to ensure the correct solution is implemented.
- Excellent communication and writing skills to convey clear specifications and reports to internal and external resources and manage client expectations.
- Knowledge of Tandem and Base‑24 an asset.
- Strong attention to detail, problem‑solving and investigative skills required.
- Knowledge of credit card payment systems (Visa, Master Card, AMEX, etc.) and Interac operation rules and regulations an asset.
- Ability to manage multiple complex activities under time constraints.
- Willingness to take ownership of work to continuously improve performance.
- $50,000 per year plus benefits.
