Purchasing Coordinator

A planner can only schedule a job when the material for it is usable. A delivery that has arrived can still be short, missing its certificate or sitting on quality hold. Our Purchasing Coordinator tracks those details for the manufacturers we work with, so their plans count only material that can be issued.

Purchasing Coordinator. Full-time, remote from anywhere in the United States, U.S. business hours.

On a normal day

• Chase supplier acknowledgments for open purchase orders and record the confirmed dates
• Match receipts against purchase orders and note short, partial and early deliveries
• Follow up on missing certificates and material on inspection hold
• Update the purchasing view the client's planners use each morning
• Write up supplier delays for our consultants with the order, the part and the new date

You'll need

• A year or more in purchasing, procurement, expediting or inventory control
• Experience working purchase orders in an ERP system
• Excel for tracking open orders and supplier dates

Helpful, not required

• Work in a manufacturing or distribution business
• APICS CPIM or a supply chain course
• A degree in business or supply chain management
