Scope

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Senior Client-Side Project Manager to join our team in Thame. This is a pivotal role responsible for leading the delivery of projects from initial concept through to handover, ensuring design integrity is upheld while projects are delivered on time and to budget.

The ideal candidate will bring strong technical and commercial understanding, proven project leadership, and experience in high-end residential construction. The role is client-facing, requiring confident management of multiple stakeholders and a thorough understanding of the planning, procurement and construction process.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the delivery of multiple high-value residential projects from concept to completion.
  • Act as the primary client liaison and main point of contact throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Prepare project scopes, programmes, deliverables, and fee proposals.
  • Oversee and coordinate design teams (internal and external) and external consultants, ensuring effective collaboration across disciplines.
  • Manage project timelines, budgets, risks, and quality standards with a focus on achieving key milestones.
  • Administer the tendering process, evaluate contractor submissions, and support contractor appointments.
  • Undertake Contract Administration duties during construction phases, including site inspections, valuations, and issuing instructions.
  • Collaborate with quantity surveyors to develop and monitor project budgets and cash flow forecasts.
  • Maintain accurate project reporting and utilise project management software (e.g., CMAP, Click Up) to track progress and accountability.
  • Support continual refinement of internal processes and contribute to practice-wide knowledge sharing and quality assurance.
Skills & Qualifications
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in a client-side or consultancy-based project management role.
  • Strong background in high-end residential design and construction, including listed and heritage buildings preferred but not essential. Commercial experience will be considered.
  • Proven track record of managing complex, multidisciplinary design projects through all RIBA stages.
  • Proficient in project planning, contract administration, procurement, and stakeholder management.
  • Familiarity with JCT contracts and planning legislation relevant to residential developments.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Competent in using project management tools and software (CMAP, Click Up or similar).
  • Degree qualified in Project Management, Construction Management, Architecture, or related discipline. Chartered status (RICS, CIOB) is advantageous but not essential.
  • UK Driving Licence
