Project Manager; Automotive

Position: Project Manager (Automotive)
Location: Leicester Forest East

As an experienced Programme/Project Manager (MUST have a background in specialist machinery or the automotive industry) You will play a pivotal role in successfully planning, executing, and closing medium to large-sized programmes. You will be responsible for leading project activities, ensuring deadlines are met, and facilitating effective communication among cross-functional teams. You will also have leadership responsibility and your organisational skills, abilities and attention to detail will be instrumental in delivering successful outcomes.
Our client is a global company, and their products, including mobile elevating work platforms, telehandlers, utility vehicles and accessories, can be found all over the world. They seek a Senior Automotive Programme/Project Manager EMEAI New Product Development (NPD).
This role is a long-term contract working outside or inside IR35. The client is looking for someone from the specialist vehicle or automotive market. Please only apply if you have this background.
Programme/Project Manager Role:
 
* Create and maintain program documentation for program planning, requirements analysis, risk management, issues management, status reporting, program communication, and quality assurance.
 
* Coordinate and manage internal and external resource to accomplish program objectives, including change management.
 
* Plans and directs medium to large programs to completion.
 
* Manages program scope, cost, timeline, integrated schedules, EVM (cost, schedule and materials) and risk assessment.
 
* Accepts and delegates authority, established priorities for work delegated to others.
 
* Monitor product quality and process control and suggest improvements as needed.
 
* Coordinate communication between suppliers, customers, and team members (e.g. Engineering, Purchasing, Manufacturing, Assembly, Service, Testing, Quality Control, and Marketing departments) as needed.
 
* Develop, prepare and present briefings to both executive management and the customer related to program status, direction, marketing and performance.
 
* Provide senior leadership and manage the direction of cross-functional team. Assure communication and cooperation among team members and resolve areas of conflict.
 
* Prepare and present program status/issues to internal and external customers.
 
* Identify and coordinate all program scope change requests for approval.
 
* Work with contract management to meet requirements of contract.
 
* Participate in program proposal writing efforts.
Programme/Project Manager Requirements:
Essential:
 
* Bachelor’s degree in programme/project management or engineering related field.
 
* 8+ years related work experience.
 
* PMP (or equivalent) Certification.
 
* Strong verbal presentation and written communication skills.
Desired:
 
* Experience with Workday or specifically Workday Programs time entry module.
 
* Strong verbal presentation and written communication skills.
This role requires a minimum of 4 days on-site, 1 working from home.
