Offshore Maintenance Lead
Our client is currently recruiting for the position of Offshore Maintenance Lead based in Aberdeen. This is a hybrid role with three days office based and two days working from home. Offshore visits will be required. PAYE contract for 12 months initially with the option to extend thereafter.
Purpose StatementProvide effective direct and indirect leadership to the maintenance support and execution teams to deliver the ‘Asset Plan’.
Set and manage the multi‑year maintenance budget, identifying opportunities to optimise and drive year‑on‑year savings. Develop synergies and cost‑saving opportunities with the other assets through contract optimisation.
Ensure robust maintenance programmes are in place and deliver execution of maintenance in line with the Work Management Process (WMP). Meet and measure performance against company metrics. Drive continuous improvement and efficiency in the execution of maintenance.
Contribute to meeting production targets by managing key equipment threats and vulnerabilities, ensuring Safety and Environmentally Critical Equipment (SECE), and Business Critical Equipment (BCE) availability.
Role Deliverables and Responsibilities Effective Leadership- Work closely with Offshore leadership to ensure maintenance is carried out efficiently and to plan.
- Coordinate the plans and work of Job Responsible Engineers (JREs) and Site Responsible Positions (SRPs) to integrate vendor‑led maintenance activity.
- Work with asset leadership to jointly achieve company targets with respect to ‘wrench time’ and remove constraints to drive efficiency gains.
- Set, agree and manage the maintenance budget and ensure programmes are supported by appropriate resources.
- Manage the establishment, maintenance and performance of contracts to deliver necessary support (e.g., condition monitoring, valve maintenance).
- Actively manage, measure and improve the performance of contracts owned within the maintenance team.
- Ensure SECE and non‑SECE maintenance strategies are current and compliant.
- Plan and manage all maintenance activities for shutdown and Integrated Activity Plans (IAPs) to meet gate criteria.
- Use the WMP process for preparation, scheduling, execution and close‑out.
- Measure performance against metrics such as schedule attainment, compliance, backlog and deferred hours.
- Drive continuous improvement (e.g., reduce breakdown work, balance planned and corrective work).
- Champion smart technology to improve efficiency (tablet reports, online monitoring).
- Identify and own key equipment vulnerabilities and implement prioritised solutions.
- Minimise potential for breakdowns and unplanned outages to promote plant availability and stability.
