Role Summary

Join Herefordshire Council as a Training and Professional Development Lead. You will drive strategic learning and development initiatives that empower staff across the county.

• Conduct needs assessments to identify skill gaps and opportunities for improvement.
• Design and implement cutting‑edge learning strategies and materials that elevate workforce performance.
• Oversee logistics, budgeting, and delivery of next‑generation training programmes.
• Track effectiveness, measure outcomes and foster continuous improvement.

• Solid background in Social Care or Health, backed by a qualifying degree.
• Deep expertise in current legislation, especially the Care Act.
• Proficient understanding of the Adult Social Care sector, including the ASYE programme and Apprenticeships.
• Exceptional collaboration skills, building partnerships with external agencies.
• Proven budget management experience, ensuring cost‑effectiveness without sacrificing quality.
• Adaptability to hybrid working and a spirit of adventure.
• Experience in leading and managing staff.
