The Role
As our Practice Manager, you will work closely with the Managing Director, acting as a strategic advisor, sounding board, and operational powerhouse. You’ll bring clarity and cohesion across the business, keeping the team aligned, the office running smoothly, and our clients at the centre of everything we do. You will take full ownership of people, processes, and systems—championing best practice and driving operational excellence.
Your leadership will directly influence our culture and performance, enabling our advisers and support staff to deliver an outstanding client experience every day.
- Oversee the day‑to‑day running of the practice, including people management, business processing, regulatory compliance, marketing, and client servicing.
- Provide high‑level technical and administrative support to advisers and the Managing Director.
- Act as the escalation point for complex client queries, liaising with advisers, clients, and third parties.
- Ensure consistent and efficient performance from the team through effective management and process improvement.
- Deliver technical support and training to new and junior staff.
- Manage workflow, holiday bookings, and ensure all client documentation is complete and compliant.
- Oversee financial promotions, including updates to the company website.
- Track ongoing advice meetings and management information through the CRM.
- Drive continuous improvement in systems and processes to enhance efficiency and client service.
- Proven experience in a similar role within wealth management, financial services, or mortgage services.
- Senior administration experience, ideally with team leadership responsibilities.
- Strong organisational skills and a self‑starter mentality.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport swiftly and act as a trusted advisor.
- Experience managing workflow, systems, and procedures, with a keen eye for regulatory requirements.
- Knowledge of client management systems such as Salesforce.
- DIP PFS qualification preferred; we offer full exam support for the Chartered Insurance Institute.
- Professional, discreet, and confident in all interactions.
- Ability to build and sustain lasting client relationships, earning trust through professional expertise, personal service, and genuine care.
- Strategic mindset, continuously moving forward by challenging the norm and identifying smarter, more efficient ways to deliver value to clients.
- Strong sense of accountability, owning decisions and outcomes while setting high standards for self and team.
- Inclusive leadership style that fosters collaboration, encourages knowledge‑sharing, and supports colleagues across teams and locations.
- Commitment to supporting growth, both by nurturing the development of junior team members and by pursuing their own professional growth.
- Proactive approach to managing complex workloads, with the ability to balance priorities, anticipate challenges, and deliver results under pressure.
- Excellent communication and influencing skills, able to translate financial insights into clear, actionable advice for clients and stakeholders.
- Resilient and adaptable under change, maintaining a positive outlook and guiding others through challenges.
- Client‑focused outlook, acting as a true partner and extension of the client’s team, invested in their success and long‑term goals.
- Comprehensive training package and ongoing learning opportunities to support your career development.
- Full exam support for Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) qualifications, helping you achieve your professional goals and advance in your field.
- 25 days’ annual leave plus bank holidays.
- Following probation, the role could include 1 day per week working from home with flexible start and finish times. Our preference is full‑time, but we can consider slightly less than full‑time for the right person.
- Workplace pension scheme.
