We have an exciting vacancy within the Infrastructure PDP and are seeking an enthusiastic and confident

Senior Project Managerto join our Epsom and South-East practice, who wants to take the next step in their career and further their responsibility for the delivery of projects from inception to completion.

You will be an established Senior Project Manager looking for the next step, with proven experience in successfully delivering projects. This role combines agile working from our Epsom office with time at client offices and sites.

Our need to recruit comes from the success of our division, and our pipeline and expected growth within the South-East regions across a variety of sectors, predominantly in the Defence Sector.

You are likely to have several years of multi-disciplinary infrastructure project delivery experience, ideally from within a consultancy environment. Working with the support of the PDP team, you will be responsible for delivering schemes to budget and programme through RIBA Stages 0-7 (or the sector equivalent) and be the main point of contact with our clients on these projects.

Your Purpose:

The Associate Project Manager will be responsible for (but not limited to) the following activities:

  • The successful delivery of the project to agreed targets, e.g., programme, budget, and quality & Identifying and agreeing project objectives and developing a strategy for achieving these.
  • Identifying and managing any matters that could pose a potential contractual/commercial risk to Atkins

    Réalis, as well as identification of opportunities.
  • Leading the project team – building, motivating, maintaining, coaching, guiding and developing the team towards solving problems and making decisions, facilitating communication, co-ordination, and information flow with the Client and within the project team, including any subcontractors and partners (internal and external).
  • With input from the Discipline Leads, agreeing commercial trading arrangements and communication plan for working with other teams across the business including our Global Technology Centres (GTC) in Bangalore and New Delhi.
  • Assembling and owning the project delivery programme and delivery plans. Protecting the commercial interest of Atkins

    Réalis, including timely and accurate invoicing and effective credit control for optimal cash flow (with the support of the finance community); comparing revenue with predicted costs and identifying risk allowances, margin, and provisions – at project set-up and monthly thereafter, including Earned Value reporting.

What you can bring:

  • Ideally with a Project Management/Engineering/Building Surveying/Architectural background, with design management, project management and contract administration experience.
  • APM PMQ (or equivalent) recognised level of competence in Project Management – desirable, understands and has experience in deploying various forms of construction contract, in particular NEC3 or 4 and/or bespoke forms of contract.
  • Experience of defence market projects or assisting the management of projects from inception to completion (RIBA Stages 0 – 7 or equivalent).
  • Strong client facing and customer service skills, with the ability to understand clients’ requirements ,ability to lead a delivery team in a positive and confident manner, demonstrating an appropriate level of knowledge, skills and attitude.
  • Understanding of BIM, Experience of working closely with multi-disciplinary design teams.
