An opportunity has arisen for a Project Manager to join a successful team delivering waste and environment projects on behalf of Leicestershire County Council (LCC).

About the Role

You would support delivery of a range of capital and revenue projects. Projects typically include improvement work at one of LCC's Recycling and Household Waste Sites or Waste Transfer Stations. You might also be asked to support service change through preparation and analysis of business data, commissioning, project oversight, and progress reporting.

We are looking for someone with a proven track‑record in project management, or who has a background in the waste or environment sectors and experience of project delivery.

The ideal candidate will have excellent organisational and communication skills and will use their initiative to efficiently deliver projects.

About You

To apply for this post, you must have:

  • Relevant degree (or equivalent qualification) and/or equivalent experience in management and delivery of projects.
  • Successful management and delivery of projects using a structured methodology (i.e. PRINCE2 or equivalent), including preparation of project documentation.
  • Experience in analysis of data and information.
  • Be able to manage conflicting priorities whilst working to tight timescales to achieve agreed targets.
  • Able to work on own initiative and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Be competent with Microsoft Office software packages including Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
