About the Directorate

The Assurance and Public Protection directorateensures democratic accountability of council services. The directorate work together to monitor and ensure compliance and provide assurance of Barnet being an engaged and effective council that protects the public purse. They provide enforcement services that engage and protect residents and businesses to support a safer and healthier borough. Are you passionate about making a real difference in your community? We’re looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic professional to lead our Noise Nuisance and Scientific Team and help shape the future of this vital service.

What you’ll do:

Provide strategic leadership and operational oversight for the Noise Nuisance and Scientific Team.

Drive service improvements and ensure compliance with legislation and statutory duties.

Lead a team of professional enforcement officers, managing budgets and delivering robust, outcome-based strategies.

Collaborate across the Council and with multi‑agency partners to protect residents and businesses.

About you:

Fully qualified EHORB registered and eligible for Corporate Membership of the CIEH (EHO).

Minimum 5 years’ senior‑level staff management experience.

Skilled in performance and project management with proven leadership ability.

A strong communicator with the ability to influence and deliver results.
