Senior Risk Manager

Working on complex, mission-critical programmes within the Defence and National Security sector, this role is about driving robust risk management solutions across the full project lifecycle. Operating from a hybrid setup (site-based in the South East / Hampshire region with flexible remote working), you will act as the key risk authority—shaping governance, leading quantitative analysis, and embedding best practices across high-value technology and engineering delivery teams.

• Driving Risk Governance:
  Developing and embedding tailored risk management strategies, mitigation plans, and framework improvements across major projects and bids.
• Quantitative Analysis & Reporting:
  Conducting quantitative cost and schedule risk analyses (QCRA/QSRA) to model exposure and inform strategic decision-making.
• Stakeholder Advisory:
  Partnering with project leaders and client-side sponsors to deliver clear risk assurance, advising on contingency, and navigating complex delivery operational impacts.
• Team Leadership & Mentorship:
  Overseeing and upskilling junior risk practitioners, driving best practice across the wider Project Controls and Management community.

• Domain Background:
  Proven track record leading risk management within complex project environments across Defence, Aerospace, or broader Secure Government sectors.
• Technical Expertise:
  Deep knowledge of full lifecycle project controls, including governance, assurance, cost/schedule integration, and change management.
• Tooling:
  Hands-on expertise using industry-standard risk platforms such as Predict! Risk Controller, Predict! Risk Analyser, or equivalent enterprise risk software.
• Professional
  
  Qualifications:
  
  Holding (or actively working towards) a recognized risk certification, such as APM Risk Certificate, IRM Certificate, PMI-RMP, or Management of Risk (MoR).

• Salary: £57,375 – £63,750 + full corporate benefits package
• Working Pattern:
  Full-time (37 hours), hybrid model (minimum 3 days on-site)
• Security Clearance:
  Minimum SC Clearance eligibility is essential.
