The  Rural (Urban) Learning Association  is a Canadian charitable organization. Our passion is to nurture humanity's natural connection with the Earth. Responsibilities

Provide Strategic Oversight :
Collaborate with fellow board members and the executive team to set the strategic direction of the organization, ensuring alignment with Rural Learning Association’s mission and vision.

Fundraising and Advocacy :
Assist with fundraising initiatives and represent the organization at key events. Use your network and influence to promote the mission of Rural Learning Association and expand our outreach.

Financial Stewardship :
Ensure the organization’s financial health and sustainability by reviewing and approving budgets, financial reports, and funding opportunities.

Policy and Governance :
Ensure proper governance practices are followed, and that the organization adheres to relevant legal and ethical standards. Support the executive team in maintaining accountability.

Community Engagement :
Serve as an ambassador for Rural Learning Association within your community, helping to increase awareness and support for the organization’s programs and initiatives.

Ideal Candidate

Passionate about Rural and Urban Communities : A strong commitment to the advancement of rural, urban, and suburban communities through education, leadership development, sustainability initiatives, and food security.

Experienced Leaders :
Prior board experience is a plus, but not required. Leadership experience in non‑profits, business, government, or other sectors is valuable.

Collaborative Team Players :
Able to work well with a diverse group of people, including other board members, staff, and community partners.

Problem Solvers :
Ready to bring innovative ideas and practical solutions to the table to help the organization overcome challenges.

Dedicated to Making an Impact :
Enthusiastic about volunteering your time, talent, and resources to make a difference in the lives of rural and urban communities.
