The Kix Care Nurse Practitioners practice autonomously utilizing their full scope of practice. Working with our clinical team, Kix Care’s Nurse Practitioners are essential partners in delivering care to patients.

Opportunity
  • Provide high-quality physical and mental health care for patients 0-17 years old, coordinating the interdisciplinary plan of care with our Nurses, Nurse Practitioners, Pediatricians, and Allied Health Care Professionals
  • Provide care to First Nation children and families from diverse communities across Quebec
  • Conduct virtual assessments, diagnose, and develop treatment plans
  • Develop health promotion and disease management care plans while providing patient education, monitoring progress, and providing post-care support as needed
  • Identify, integrate, and evaluate research-based innovations for improving patient care
  • Create, utilize, and disseminate new knowledge using formal and informal channels
  • Provide relevant health education to families that are based on their needs, learning styles, and stage of development
Qualifications
  • Successful completion of a nursing education program designed for Nurse Practitioners
  • Bilingual in French and English
  • Registration in good standing with the Ordre des infirmières et infirmiers du Québec and College of Nurses of Ontario
  • 2+ years experience as a Nurse Practitioner
  • 2+ years of pediatric Nurse Practitioner experience preferred
  • Pediatric acute care or emergency experience preferred
  • Experience working with First Nation communities is an asset
  • Proficiency in performing a health history and remote physical examination of the infant, toddler, child, and adolescent
  • Comfortable providing mental health support to patients and families
  • Committed to acquiring new skills and remaining current in evidence-based practices
  • Ability to recognize emergent concerns requiring immediate higher levels of care and the ability to distinguish urgent from semi-urgent and nonurgent medical matters and conditions
  • Ability to act as a change agent, and foster teamwork and consensus-building
  • Innovative critical thinking with excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of theoretical and conceptual frameworks and their practical application
  • Demonstrated ability to utilize information technology
  • Ability to juggle multiple priorities with a positive and solution-oriented mindset
