About the Role

The Clinical Quality & Compliance Nurse Reviewer is responsible for conducting provider compliance reviews to ensure adherence to state regulations, quality standards, and program requirements. This position involves on-site provider visits, documentation reviews, compliance assessments, and collaboration with providers to support quality improvement initiatives.

Successful candidates are independent, detail-oriented healthcare professionals with strong analytical, communication, and relationship-building skills.

Typical Responsibilities

• Build and maintain effective working relationships with providers and stakeholders.
• Conduct provider compliance reviews and assess adherence to applicable regulations and program requirements.
• Coordinate and conduct on-site provider visits throughout Illinois.
• Review provider documentation, policies, procedures, and business practices.
• Conduct interviews and gather information to support compliance determinations.
• Document findings and prepare professional summaries of review activities.
• Identify areas of non-compliance and recommend corrective actions or improvement opportunities.
• Analyze trends and emerging compliance issues.
• Maintain strict confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.
• Utilize electronic systems and web-based applications to document and manage review activities.
• Provide recommendations and status updates to leadership.

Preferred Qualifications Education

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Nursing degree preferred.

Experience

• Minimum of two (2) years of clinical experience working with:

  • Critical care providers
  • Public health providers
  • Providers serving children
  • Older adults
  • Individuals with traumatic brain injuries
  • Individuals with developmental disabilities

• Minimum of one (1) year of experience conducting quality assurance or compliance reviews.

Licensure

• Active Illinois Registered Professional Nurse (RN) license required.
