Staff Research Scientist, Biodiversity-Environment Interactions

, 80-100%, 8046 Zürich (and working from home)

Agroscope is closed during the Christmas period – no applications will be processed from 20 December 2025 to 4 January 2026.

This Is How You Can Contribute
  • Acquiring and leading research projects in the field of 'biodiversity-environment interactions'
  • (Further) developing monitoring and experimental approaches for a better understanding of the factors influencing biodiversity patterns
  • Combining expertise in data evaluation and (further) development of methods in the field of biodiversity monitoring at Agroscope
  • Writing peer-reviewed and practice-oriented publications, and presenting research findings to different target groups (scientists, practitioners and the public) at an international and national level
  • Supervising students (Bachelor's and Master's), PhD students and Post Docs
This makes you unique
  • PhD in Landscape Ecology, Environmental Sciences or a related field
  • Proven ability to process, evaluate and manage large, heterogeneous data sets (e.g. structured monitoring data, causal observations and Citizen Science data)
  • Sound skills in performing biodiversity assessments and developing land-use scenarios
  • Experience in acquiring research funds and managing research projects
  • A team player with a strong commitment, excellent communication skills, and a passion for evaluating data, developing methods, and publishing in the context of agroecology and landscape ecology
  • Knowledge of two official Swiss languages and English
