We are looking for an enthusiastic postdoctoral researcher in the dynamic Climate Processes Group within the sub‑Department of Atmospheric, Oceanic and Planetary Physics of the Department of Physics at the University of Oxford. The post is available immediately for a fixed‑term period of 18 months. This position, aligned with the EU Horizon Europe project Clouds and Climate Transitioning to Post‑Fossil Aerosol Regime (Clean Cloud) with partners across Europe, will tackle our understanding of convective systems under climate and air pollution changes combining global km‑scale models with observations.

Responsibilities
  • Develop innovative research on convective systems and aerosol impacts using satellite‑based remote sensing and km‑scale models.
  • Collaborate closely with international partners and conduct joint analyses and model validation.
  • Present research findings at national and international conferences.
  • Publish results in leading subject and high‑impact journals.
Qualifications
  • PhD in atmospheric physics or a closely related field, or nearing completion of a Ph.D. / Doctorate.
  • Excellent knowledge of atmospheric physics, remote sensing techniques, and experience with satellite data.
  • Strong ability to perform novel, independent research with international scope.
  • Excellent teamwork, communication, and collaboration skills.
