We are looking for someone who shares our values to join our sales team. You will make a difference by helping our customers find their perfect self‑guided walking or cycling adventure and enabling them to experience memorable "Macs Moments".
We are a scaling adventure tour operator on a mission to be the leading global brand in self‑guided, active travel. Welcoming over 40,000 customers on walking and cycling trips around the world, we employ over 170 people across the UK, US and Germany to create #macsmoments by leading, advocating & enabling self‑guided, active travel as a positive force for people and planet.
In November 2024, we proudly achieved B Corp certification.
- Work alongside the Sales team to ensure the customer has an unforgettable experience from initial enquiry to on‑trip support.
- After completing a training programme, respond to different types of customer enquiries and convert them into confirmed bookings.
- Follow up on calls and leads, manage new enquiries via phone, email and live chat.
- Deliver a high level of customer experience as the first contact a customer has with Macs.
- Achieve and exceed personal and team targets without compromising the customer journey.
- After 6 months, work towards becoming a destination specialist.
- Prioritise new enquiries and customer questions that increase during our season.
- After 12 months, be fully competent in the Sales Process and adapt to the different priorities of the departure season.
- Experience in a target‑driven sales role.
- A desire to deliver high-end customer service.
- A keen interest in travel and passion for learning about new destinations.
- Ability to work under pressure, motivated to achieve targets and demonstrate a positive attitude.
- Self‑organisation and the ability to manage competing priorities.
- A strong team player who understands collaboration and supports colleagues and the company in achieving shared goals.
- Must be in the Glasgow area; the hybrid office model requires 3 days in the office and up to 2 days remote.
- Multitasking, prioritising and establishing deadlines to meet objectives.
- Interpersonal and team skills for building internal and external relationships.
- Highly confident, competent and articulate individual who can communicate professionally.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience and fluency using IT systems such as email, livechat, phones, booking/company systems and MS Office suite.
- Learning oriented, resilient and flexible.
- A hands‑on individual willing to go the extra mile for customers, colleagues and the business.
- Creative thinking, adaptability and communication skills are key for any role.
- Previous experience in the travel industry
- German language skills
