Business Development Manager (South) - Fire Systems

For our UK&I Sales Organization, we are looking for a Business Development Manager – Fire Systems. The UK&I Sales Organization works in conjunction with the product Business Units to sell products & services to a wide variety of customers. Eaton has rapidly evolved into an intelligent power management company as our part to Energy Transition and Net Zero gathers pace. In the Eaton Electrical Sector, products & services include systems that form total energy solutions including EV charging, Energy Storage, software, power distribution, industrial controls and power quality as well as life safety systems in Emergency Lighting, Fire and Security.

We are currently seeking an exceptional sales professional to join our dynamic and dedicated Fire Systems sales team as a Business Development Manager.

As a member of our team, you'll be responsible for building and executing a business plan to achieve short‑ and long‑term sales success in your territory. To succeed, we expect you to be a value seller who is passionate about building strong customer relationships and identifying and pursuing new sales opportunities. The role is available in a remote structure, but geographically within the South area, with a business travel rate up to 75% of the working time.

Key Responsibilities
  • Build a business plan for short‑ and long‑term sales success across our System Partners while highlighting opportunities within our Specialist Distribution Partners.
  • Integrate that plan by utilising existing contacts and networking to build a portfolio of additional contacts, including decision makers, influencers, branch managers, sales staff, and territory sales managers to grow the overall business.
  • Identify and pursue new sales opportunities across the UK&I that can be developed within existing accounts or through new opportunities.
  • Drive sales growth and ensure sales, profit and margin targets are achieved in line with overall business objectives.
  • Develop pipeline and sales resilience across target market sectors and manage via CRM (Salesforce).
  • Utilise internal tools and systems to track and report weekly progress toward individual and team sales goals.
  • Build and maintain relationships with customers, understand their needs and requirements, and provide them with relevant product knowledge while addressing any questions or concerns.
  • Keep up to date on industry trends and market conditions and report key changes back to the business.
  • Focus on key activities to drive collaboration and partnership within your account base.
  • Stay motivated by continuous improvement and strive to constantly exceed customer expectations.
  • Interpret data and make recommendations on how we should adapt based on what we are seeing.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the fire detection industry.
  • Preferably educated to college level or equivalent.
  • Strong understanding of British Standards, Fire Systems, EVCS, and associated systems.
  • Proven track record of successful sales performance.
  • Results‑driven and accountable, with the ability to work independently.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficiency in virtual/digital communication tools (email, chat, video conferencing), as many customers now prefer digital interaction.
  • Ability to leverage data to develop sales strategies and make data‑driven decisions.
  • Proficient in CRM systems (Salesforce) and other sales‑related software for managing customer relationships and tracking progress.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to think quickly and adapt.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Collaborative team player, consultative, solution‑oriented, confident presenter, driven, results‑focused, with a digital mindset.
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize effectively.
