Business Development Manager – Log Cabins & Holiday Cottages
Due to growth, our client is looking for a Business Development Manager to sell high‑quality, low‑maintenance log buildings, luxury holiday cottages, cabins, commercial buildings and glamping pods made from sustainably sourced timber.
Responsibilities- Identify and target rural diversification opportunities for landowners, holiday park owners, and farmers.
- Discuss possibilities for land use change, detailing the commercial benefits and increased profitability.
- Serve as a hybrid, client‑facing salesperson, meeting clients in the showroom and on the field.
- Offer a turnkey solution from initial enquiry, fact‑find, site planning and design, to civils, build, fit‑out and ongoing operational support.
- Leverage marketing support, membership of key associations, planning databases and networking events to generate leads.
- Convert prospects ranging from a few glamping pods or cabins (≈ £500k+) to multi‑unit seven‑figure projects.
- Proven experience selling turnkey construction solutions in the holiday park, glamping, farmer, or landowner markets.
- Strong knowledge of local authority planning, first‑ and second‑fix construction, groundworks and project delivery.
- Located south of Birmingham in South or South‑East England, with access to the M25, M4, M3 and M40.
- Excellent attention to detail, consultative sales approach, commercial acumen and comfort on site.
- Ability to visualise and sell the benefits of land‑use changes to landowners.
- Well‑established, highly regarded manufacturer and installer of sustainably sourced log cabins, served in both residential and B2B markets.
- Exciting growth plans offer potential progression to a senior leadership position.
- £45,000 – £50,000 basic salary (dependent on experience).
- Quarterly bonus opportunity;
Year 1 OTE of £70,000. - Company car (Hybrid VW Tiguan).
- Hybrid working model: mix of field sales and home/office based, with showroom visits twice per week.
