About the Role
Our client, a prominent supplier of specialized equipment and services to the mining industry, is seeking a seasoned Account Manager to oversee their operations in the Welkom region. This hybrid role requires a blend of remote client management and essential on-site visits to mines and industrial partners. You will be responsible for nurturing existing client relationships, identifying upsell and cross-sell opportunities, and ensuring unparalleled customer satisfaction.
The ideal candidate will possess deep industry knowledge, exceptional communication abilities, and a strategic mindset focused on account growth and retention. Your primary goal will be to serve as the main point of contact for key accounts, understanding their evolving needs and providing timely, effective solutions. This role is crucial for maintaining our client's strong reputation and expanding their market share within the vital mining sector of the Free State.
- Manage and grow a portfolio of key accounts within the mining sector in the Welkom area.
- Develop and execute strategic account plans to maximize revenue and client loyalty.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, addressing inquiries and resolving issues promptly.
- Identify opportunities for product and service upgrades, expansions, and new solutions.
- Conduct regular business reviews with clients to assess performance and align on future strategies.
- Collaborate closely with internal sales, technical support, and logistics teams to ensure seamless service delivery.
- Negotiate contract renewals and amendments to secure long-term partnerships.
- Monitor market trends and competitor activities within the mining sector.
- Achieve and exceed revenue targets for assigned accounts.
- Maintain detailed and accurate client records in the company's CRM system.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in account management or sales, with significant exposure to the mining or heavy industrial sectors.
- Proven track record of successfully managing and growing key client accounts.
- Excellent understanding of the mining operational landscape and challenges.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
- Demonstrated ability to build rapport and trust with senior-level stakeholders.
- Proficiency with CRM software (e.g., Salesforce) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to balance remote work responsibilities with frequent travel to client sites.
- A valid driver's license and willingness to travel extensively within the region.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
