Position: Dio So2 Security & Public Access (19694)
Unit Role
HQ DIO OS & Trg Region provides direct training support across the UK and overseas estate to UK Strategic Command Permanent Joint Headquarters the Front-Line Commands Director Special Forces Cadets and Other Government Departments to enable users to deploy on current operations meet readiness standards and prepare for contingent operations. DIO OS & Trg Region is responsible for the provision of a Training Estate that is of the right size and standard against the endorsed need fit for purpose safe well managed sustainable and sensitive to social and environmental considerations.

Role
SO2 SyPA is responsible for advice and guidance on all security and public access matters to HQ OS&Trg Region and its Operating Groups. Additional responsibilities also include assurance and governance audits on behalf of Hd OS&Trg to ensure Operating Groups are maintaining procedural compliance within policy guidelines. This includes a of minimum 7 assurance visits per annum with approximately 25 nights (separated service).
Responsibilities
Manage the security of the UK Defence Training Estate (UK DTE) and support to the DTE Security & Public Access Officers. Which includes ensuring compliance with security protocols in accordance with JSP 440 the Manual of Defence Security Resilience and Business Continuity and Risk Management Policy The Catalogue of Security Equipment and the National Protective Security Authority policy.Manage estate security and public access issues working in partnership with MDP MGS SSG Home Office police forces and local authorities.Lead and coordinate Community Engagement (CE) to further the aims of DIO within the community and educate the public (Respect the Range campaigns) in relation to signage byelaws and Safety in Trainingwhilst managing and maintaining safe public access.Lead on reviewing current byelaws identify shortcomings make recommendations and contribute to the overarching Defence review and re-write of byelaws as they relate to the training estate.Identify the impacts of increasing civilian encroachments on to DIO Training Estate including assessment of existing control measures to identify enhanced measures or use of technology to resolve issues.Ensure and manage security compliance across the estate by Authority staff and Users in accordance with JSP 440.Conduct Range Assurance Board visits as the Security & Public Access SME to assure and assess the minimum-security standards are adhered to in line with JSP 440.Implement manage and maintain the Security Risk Management (SRM) process within the UK DTE for the 1
* Security Risk Board.Identify trends on incursion activity and deliver safety recommendations to reduce the likelihood of occurrence.Disseminate all security threat information and threat warnings issued by DIO PSyA.Point of liaison between HQ DIO Safeguarding and the Service Delivery Areas that have a Safeguarding issue.Key Skills
