This role is intended for all qualified Crypto Custodians. As a Crypto Custodian, you will take responsibility for several security work streams that protect clients, their people, and all related systems, infrastructure, information, and physical assets. You will develop and maintain strong working relationships with stakeholders, including the Ministry of Defence, to ensure their requirements are met, engage confidently with business customers and security leadership, and set realistic expectations.

In addition, you will act as the Deputy Security Controller, positioned at the centre of security operations, supporting and overseeing the full range of protective security services and controls. You will ensure compliance with the Security Policy Framework, ISO 27001, Security Aspects Letters, and other contractual security obligations such as DEFCON and DEFSTAN.

You will report directly to the Security Controller. The successful candidate will be based at Rugby, with a hybrid arrangement of two to three days on site and two to three days working from home. This role is well suited to candidates with experience managing or supporting government security requirements, contracts, and operations within a similar environment.

Knowledge and Experience
  • Detailed understanding of Government Security Policy Memoranda and management of cryptographic accounts and assets.
  • Completion of the UKNDA Crypto Custodian Training, along with experience using JSP 490, JSP 491, and JSP 608.
  • Proven experience developing and implementing security policies and procedures to support secure operations.
  • Ability to maintain compliance with UK Government security frameworks and current accreditations and certifications.
  • Competence in incident management and leading investigations.
