Advanced Social Worker - Children with Disabilities Team

About the Team

The Children with Disabilities Team is a county wide team comprising of both Social Workers and Family Support Workers. The team is structured into specialised hubs. We are looking for an experienced social worker to join the Assessment Hub as a Social Worker.

This position will be based within the Children with Disabilities Assessment Hub, which progresses Family Help Assessments and identify the needs and outcomes for Children and Young people.

The Children with Disabilities Team offers support to children and young people, 0 - 18 years, with complex additional needs, their siblings, and parent/carers. We deliver services to enhance the life experiences and improve outcomes for children and young people with a disability. We focus on the strengths/abilities of children and their families to enable children and their family members to achieve the aspirations and their identified outcomes, meet their full potential, and maximise their independence.

The team is passionate about working with children, families and other professionals to achieve the best outcomes for vulnerable children. The team undertake Family Help Assessments and works with Children in Need, children subject to Child Protection Plans and Children in Care. A multi-disciplinary approach is modelled in the team in partnership with both universal and mainstream services to support children, young people and their families.

We are recruiting for the role of Social Worker in our Children with Disabilities Team Assessment Hub countywide. The position is full time for 37 hours per week and on a permanent contract basis.

• The Children with Disabilities Team (CwDT) are looking for experienced and dedicated Social Workers who are passionate about working with children and their families.
• You will be working within a multi-disciplinary team and work collaboratively to support and safeguard children
• Work directly and closely with children and their families to build upon family strengths.
• Support less experienced staff members and provide support to the team in the team managers absence
• You will be based at our Saltisford Office Park in Warwick.
• Your working pattern will be 9am – 5.30pm Monday to Thursday and 9am – 5pm on Fridays
• Occasionally we may ask that you work outside of these hours for example, in an emergency,
• We offer a mixture of office and home based working. The expectation is you are office based at least twice per week.

• We are looking for an ambitious, professional, conscientious social worker to join our team.
• Ideally, you will need to have experience of children and young people with complex needs and disabilities.
• Be knowledgeable around the challenges experienced by families as a whole and be skilled in completing assessments and developing outcomes focussed and child-friendly plans.
• You will be a team player, working with colleagues in a range of disciplines, sharing knowledge, and providing support and advice to deliver the best possible outcomes for children and their families.
• You will need a professional Social Work qualification and Social Work England Registration
