The Youth Service Team at Cardiff Council operates a range of provisions across the city to support young people aged 11‑25. The North East team delivers services in Llanedeyrn, Pentwyn, Pontprennau and Llanishen, providing creative and challenging opportunities that foster life skills and personal development.
About the JobAs a Corporate Trainee, you will learn how to contribute to the Youth Service while gaining experience in event, project and workshop planning, data collection, and IT tasks. You will support the team in delivering high‑quality services to young people, working face‑to‑face to facilitate their personal, social and educational development.
- Plan, deliver and evaluate events, projects and workshops.
- Collect and compile data on membership, attendance and participation.
- Use IT to create documents and reports.
- Work with young people, supporting their holistic development.
- Collaborate with your manager and mentor to develop transferable skills.
The role can be carried out online from home or in a hybrid setting. Internet connectivity is your responsibility, but equipment and training will be provided. Working hours include unsociable evenings and some weekends (approximately 5 evenings a week, 6‑9 pm).

Additional InformationThis is a part‑time position of 18.5 hours per week; the advertised salary is based on a full‑time (37 hours) role.
The position is temporary for 12 months and requires an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check.
