CORPORATE TRAINEE - ASSISTANT YOUTH SUPPORT WORKER (GRASSROOTS - CITY CENTRE)

About The ServiceOur Youth Service Team is looking to employ a Corporate Trainee Assistant Youth Support Worker based in our Central (Grassroots - City Centre) Team.
Our Youth Service consists of a talented and enthusiastic team of professional youth workers who operate a range of provisions across the city for young people aged 11‑25. This set up consists of youth centres, specialist provisions, targeted support, project work and street based youth work teams that all provide a wide variety of creative opportunities and experiences that encourage the participation and development of young people in communities.
The Central team is a neighbourhood youth provision based in City Centre which works with young people aged 11‑25, many who live in the surrounding communities of insert all areas of your locality or city wide offering a variety of creative and exciting activities to engage young people.

This role will involve working online from home and/or a mix of home and office (hybrid) working.
About the jobIn this Corporate Trainee role, you will learn to:
- Develop the skills you need to fully contribute to our Service and will learn to engage and support young people.
- Support the team with event, project & workshop planning, delivery and evaluation.
- Collate data such as membership, attendance and participation.
- Carry out a number of IT based tasks and use a computer to create documents using a variety of software.
- Work face to face with young people to facilitate their personal, social and educational development, to enable them to develop their voice, influence and place in society and to reach their full potential.
- Receive on the job training and supervision to help you deliver an efficient and effective service in a positive and customer focussed manner.
- Be supported by your manager and a named mentor to encourage you to develop a range of transferrable skills to support your career progression.
Many of our teams work online with a mix of home or hybrid (office) working. Where homeworking is required, you will be given the necessary equipment and training, however, you will need to arrange your own internet connectivity (support may be available to help with this).
The post holder will be expected to work unsociable hours including evenings and some weekends. The Open access youth provision run from Central Team takes place over five evenings with an evening session usually 6‑9pm.
