iPeople SC Solutions is recruiting aHomeless Prevention Coordinatorfor our client based inthe City of Westminster, Greater London.

This service is to work specifically and directed by Housing Needs on the reduction of clients who are currently occupying high cost nightly booked TA accommodation. The team will work under the direction of the existing Head of Accommodation to enable move on of clients out of this TA to alternative provision.

Exceptional customer care skills that are delivered through a compassionate and empathy focused approach through all contacts with clients and applicants
• Experienced in the provision of advice and assistance on homelessness and prevention

• Experienced in the encouragement and support that is offered to service-users to seek professional and medical help where appropriate
• Can work in a ‘mindful’ way to ensure the customer journey and client experience is the main focus through all contact and work that the team delivers
  • Can work consistently as part of a team, take direction, and understand the essential aspects of working together as one team to achieve the targeted approach to this work
• Experienced and a comprehensive background working in Homelessness and the legal aspects of this work to include. – housing duty investigations and applications, decisions and duties owed to an applicant in accordance with Part VII Housing Act 1996, 184 decisions and investigations – Part 7 of the Housing Act – TA, suitability and s202 reviews of TA offered – Decision, non-priority need decisions, no Interim accommodation letter communication/End of Prevention / Relief Duty letters – process management of all aspects in these areas of homelessness management – S202 Reviews on decisions and suitability – Legal evictions i.e. Section 21 notices, Section 8 notices, Possessions Order’s – Understand and a background in support those in financial crisis, supporting referrals and advice through IDVA services, Welfare Benefits and other means to increase income to the family including DHP and the Cost-of-Living funding in WCC – Experience in the oversight of Immigration issues, Home Office Asylum pressures and clients who present to services with No Recourse to Public Funds
• Experience working and forming effective working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders which may include partner organisations internal and external to Westminster such as Family Services, Adult Social Care, Domestic Violence professionals and service providers, Police;
  Housing Benefits;
  Neighbourhood Teams, Home Office;
  Landlords, Solicitors etc.
• Working and following best practice and working in line with all relevant legislation
• Working as part of the team, provide recommendations to improve overall service delivery. Focused on outputs and outcomes as directed by the Manager of the service. The roles are not dissimilar to current roles in my service, and we attach the Homelessness Prevention Co-ordinator post as one but more specific homelessness management and oversight to be key in preference to ‘commissioning of services’.
