Community Support Advisor

Part Time Hours

Working pattern hours/days to be agreed

Family Connect have a vacancy in the Adult Social Care Community Support Advisor team.

Our Family Connect Community Support Advisors provide advice, guidance and support to professionals and the public on all adult social care services ensuring that the customer receives the right help at the right time, from the right service.

Our team staffs a telephone service that operates from 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday.

We are the first point of contact if people wish to make an urgent referral for care and support from any of our adult social care teams or request occupational therapy and assistive technology assessments.

We provide support to customers already in receipt of social care services if their circumstances change.

We are the team that is contacted if there are concerns that an adult is at risk of abuse, neglect or harm.

The Community Support Advisor role is both dynamic and fast paced. The Community Support Advisors are highly skilled and highly trained to enable them to have a wide breadth of knowledge to assist our residents and other professionals with a wide range of enquiries. You must be organised, able to multitask and be able to think on your feet to resolve issues.

The role necessitates a high level of autonomy and initiative. Professional curiosity is encouraged and it is vital that you are able to communicate effectively over the phone. Alongside our telephone service we also utilise multiple systems for recording and processing duties. Being familiar with MS teams & Outlook and digital phone/electronic communication systems is vital as a starting point.

Full training will be provided but a background in adult social care would be extremely beneficial as would experience/ skills in customer service based roles. The role is challenging but rewarding and there is a need for a calm approach when responding to urgent situations.

The team is Hybrid, working either in the office or from home - this can be flexible to meet individual's and the team's needs.

As a team we set the bar high and are committed to innovation and transformation of the service and we are looking for individuals who meet our forward thinking ethos to join our team. We are looking for individuals who are talented, excellent communicators who also have outstanding IT skills. If you have a passion for providing excellent customer service, assisting individuals who need the support of the local authority and would like to learn new skills and knowledge then we are waiting to hear from you.

If this sounds like you and you are wanting to be part of a committed, supportive, vibrant, outcome focussed team then please do apply.

If you would like further information or would like a discussion about the role please contact Emma Bradshaw or Rachael Perry, Team leaders on  option 3.
