With our client base growing rapidly and a 10X increase in daily transaction volume year over year, we are entering a new phase of engineering—scaling our product to ensure performance, reliability, and maintainability under enterprise-level load. We need a Senior Developer with experience and vision to help evolve our platform.

You will play a key role in transforming our proven solution into a highly scalable, distributed platform serving enterprise clients worldwide. This involves architectural decisions, performance optimization, and migrating from a monolithic structure.

• Design and implement scalable, service-oriented solutions in Kotlin (2+) and Java (21), aligned with our performance and availability goals.
• Refactor legacy components and enhance system robustness under increasing loads.
• Collaborate across teams to modernize architecture and develop resilient, observable, and horizontally scalable features.
• Work with our tech stack:
  Kotlin (2+), Java (21), Spring, Micronaut, Kafka, Camel, Artemis JMS, Hibernate, Kubernetes, Helm, REST, SOAP, MySQL, Postgre
  
  SQL, Elasticsearch, ELK Stack.
• Utilize developer tools like Jet Brains Intelli
  
  J + AI, Data Grip, Lens, Rancher, Postman.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines with Git Lab for rapid, safe deployments.
• Participate in architectural discussions and influence key tech decisions as we scale globally.

• Experience scaling transaction-heavy, performance-critical SaaS or enterprise systems.
• Fluent in Java and/or Kotlin, comfortable working in hybrid codebases transitioning from monolith to microservices.
• Hands-on experience with distributed systems, Kafka, and resilient service design.
• Proficient with Kubernetes deployments, observability, and maintainability.
• Knowledge of modern CI/CD workflows and infrastructure-as-code, ideally with Git Lab.
• Enjoy collaborative environments with flat hierarchies and shared ownership.
• Excellent communication skills in English;
  German is a plus.
• Applicants must be from the EU, hold an Austrian Blue Card, or Red White Red Card.

Salary starts at EUR 60,900 annually, based on the IT collective agreement, with potential over payment based on experience.
