Responsibilities- Designing and developing mission‑critical systems and applications that support trading, investment operations, and client‑facing products.
- Analyzing requirements, proposing solutions, and designing software components and systems.
- Writing high‑quality, efficient, and maintainable code.
- Participating in code reviews, providing feedback, and ensuring coding standards and best practices are followed.
- Mentoring and coaching less‑experienced developers.
- Communicating effectively with stakeholders to understand requirements and provide project updates.
- Optimizing the performance of Python applications, identifying bottlenecks, and implementing scalability solutions.
- Keeping up to date with the latest trends and technologies in Python development and software engineering.
- 5+ years of experience developing complex applications using an object‑oriented language (Python preferred, experience in C++, C#, Java, or similar also acceptable).
- Experience with mission‑critical applications and a robust software development life cycle.
- Strong communication, problem‑solving skills, and a passion for learning.
- Experience and enthusiasm for test‑automation and CI/CD.
- Strong STEM degree or equivalent professional experience.
- Deep knowledge of Python and frameworks we use:
Flask, SQL Alchemy, Alembic, Pydantic. - Experience with relational databases, ideally Postgre
SQL. - Experience with message‑based architectures and queuing technologies such as Rabbit
MQ. - Experience with REST and/or Graph
QL APIs. - Knowledge of core AWS services (EC2, ECS, RDS, S3).
- Experience using observability tools like Datadog.
- Knowledge of containerization:
Docker, Kubernetes, AWS Fargate. - Experience in full‑stack development using Type Script and React (beneficial).
- Experience building software for financial services or investment management organisations.
