Senior Platform Engineer; Remote

SQL, Azure Database, or self‑hosted—and bring a realistic, production‑like development workflow to every pull request. As a Series A, fully remote team of about 25 people, Xata’s customers use us to eliminate staging pain, speed up development, and make Postgres scalable for AI‑era applications.

• Work closely with engineering teams to build highly scalable, observable services.
• Set up infrastructure and configuration as code using Kubernetes and Pulumi.
• Implement automation tools and frameworks for CI/CD and automatic code deployment.
• Maintain the observability and monitoring stack and deployment pipelines.
• Participate in the on‑call rotation, shared between the SRE and backend team.
• Share your experience at conferences or through blog posts if interested.
• Leverage knowledge of distributed storage systems—preferably Ceph, OpenEBS, Mayastor, or similar cloud‑native solutions.

• Hands‑on cloud infrastructure experience on public cloud platforms, preferably AWS.
• Strong understanding of Postgre
  
  SQL.
• Experience with Kubernetes, especially using operators and running Postgres in Kubernetes.
• Experience with infrastructure as code.
• Hands‑on coding experience, ideally in Python, Go, or Type Script, with a focus on clean, maintainable code.
• Experience with observability tools and incident management.

• Deep experience with operating database products at scale.
