Position: Android Developer (Remote)

OBSS is looking for a Android Developer to join our dynamic team and contribute to delivering end‑to‑end software solutions across diverse industries. You will work on cutting‑edge projects, collaborating with cross‑functional teams to design, develop, and maintain high‑quality applications that solve real business problems.

Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, test, and maintain high‑quality native Android applications using Kotlin and Java.
  • Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, backend developers, and other stakeholders to deliver exceptional user experiences.
  • Architect scalable, reusable, and maintainable app components applying clean code principles and design patterns (MVVM, MVI).
  • Integrate RESTful APIs and third‑party libraries effectively.
  • Optimize application performance, responsiveness, and battery usage.
  • Write unit tests and UI tests to ensure app stability and quality.
  • Participate in Agile/Scrum processes including sprint planning, daily standups, and retrospectives.
  • Conduct code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement of coding standards.
  • Manage codebases using Git or other version control systems.
  • Stay current with the latest Android development trends, tools, and best practices.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve production issues to ensure seamless user experience.
Qualifications and Technical Skills
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of professional experience developing native Android applications.
  • Strong proficiency in Kotlin and Java programming languages.
  • Solid understanding of Android SDK, Android Studio, and Jetpack components.
  • Experience with modern Android architectures and patterns such as MVVM, MVI, and Clean Architecture.
  • Knowledge of RESTful APIs, JSON parsing, and network libraries like Retrofit.
  • Familiarity with databases such as SQLite, Room, or Realm.
  • Experience with unit testing and UI testing frameworks (JUnit, Espresso).
  • Understanding of material design principles and good UI/UX practices.
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
  • Proficient with version control tools, especially Git.
  • Excellent problem‑solving, analytical thinking, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, fast‑paced environment.
  • Experience with Jetpack Compose, Coroutines, Flow, and Dependency Injection frameworks (Hilt, Koin).
  • Apps published on Google Play Store or contributions to open‑source Android projects.
