Software Test Engineer

Software Test Engineer / SDET – Central Bath / Work from home hybrid

£35,000 - £50,000 + bonus + private medical + 8% pension

A leading software house in the heart of Bath has a requirement for a Software Test Engineer, to write automated tests for UI testing, web services and performance testing.

The company have invested heavily in their testing function and are introducing new tools and techniques, so there will be a learning curve for everyone - this isn’t a job that requires someone who ticks every box from day one, but someone with the ability to pick things up quickly.

It would be perfect for an ambitious Software Test Engineer with an interest in software engineering, as most of your time will be spent writing automated tests in Python.

It would suit someone with some previous development experience (not necessarily Python - Java / C# etc. is also fine), who is keen to build on these skills. You might have worked as a Software Engineer in Test / SDET, have a Computer Science degree, or done personal coding projects.

You will probably have some of these skills, or be interested in learning them :

• A number of years testing experience, focusing on front end & web applications
• Experience automating complex web user interfaces
• Automation frameworks such as Selenium Web Driver
• Knowledge of tools like Swagger, Postman and ReadyAPI
• Some Python or other coding skills

• A salary in the range of £35,000 - £50,000 DOE

The role is based in the centre of Bath, an easy walk from Bath Spa train station, which itself is a short commute from Bristol. The company operate a hybrid working policy - 2 days a week in the office and 3 can be done remotely
