Senior Backend / Core Engineer

We’re looking for a Senior Backend / Core Engineer to help expand and deliver Vendia’s distributed AI data platform. You’ll own critical backend systems, ensuring scalability, availability, latency, and fault tolerance for our massively multi‑tenant platform. You’ll design, develop, and deliver customer‑facing functionality that enables enterprise users to manage and share vast amounts of operational data in real time.

What You’ll Do

Design and implement a cloud-based, fully managed data plane at the core of Vendia’s real‑time distributed data platform.

Build solutions that allow enterprises to integrate multi‑modal data at scale.

Implement best practices including automation, CI/CD workflows, testing and quality controls, security, and performance optimization.

Influence the vision and roadmap of Vendia’s offerings by collaborating with Product and Design teams.

Partner with leadership to balance new features with rapid customer growth and engineering excellence.

Minimum Requirements

5+ years of software development experience in distributed systems, with operational responsibility for mission‑critical services.

Experience with No

SQL databases (e.g., Dynamo

DB) and serverless cloud architectures (AWS Lambda, API Gateway, Cognito, or equivalents on Azure/ GCP).

Expertise in Python or Rust.

Deep knowledge of AWS, including serverless architectures.

Proven experience with CI/CD pipelines, testing frameworks, and operational excellence.

Strong project planning, communication, and delivery skills.

Must be authorized to work in the United States.

Preferred Qualifications

Startup or fast‑paced cloud environment experience.

Knowledge of Apache Iceberg, distributed ledger technologies, or LLM/AI agent integrations.

Knowledge of AWS Glue is a plus.
