AboutThe Role
INDEZ is looking for a skilled Magento Developer to join our compact, high-performance team. We are a Google Premier Partner and the organisers of the national Ecommerce Scotland conference
We manage a portfolio of multi-million turnover (7 & 8 high figure) Magento B2C, B2B and Omnichannel merchants
, handling their design, maintenance, and growth marketing.
This is a unique opportunity to work directly alongside our CTO - a highly specialised ecommerce architect with a PhD in High-Performance Computing. You will have the chance to work with high-level technical leadership, adopting the latest technology for growing and scaling ambitious clients.
We are a fully remote company with a results-oriented culture that believes in empowered autonomy. We value results, trust, diligence & attention to detail. We need a "safe pair of hands" who can take ownership of code quality and manage their own time effectively.
The OpportunityWe don't just patch bugs; we innovate. We actively encourage the use of Agentic AI and Next-Gen IDEs to accelerate complex refactoring. Whether you prefer Google Antigravity
, Cursor
, Windsurf
, or PHPStorm with AI Assistant
, we want you to use the best tools to amplify your output and focus on high-value architectural logic.
- Develop & Optimise: Develop, maintain, and proactively optimise Magento 2 stores for a diverse client base.
- Complex Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot complex backend issues and integrate third-party systems (ERPs, Payment Gateways).
- Architectural
Collaboration:
Collaborate with the CTO on architectural decisions and performance optimizations. - Quality Control: Write clean, standards-compliant, testable code and assist in code reviews.
- Experience: Minimum 3+ years of commercial experience with Magento 2, specifically with a backend focus.
- AI-Augmented Workflow: You are comfortable working with AI-native IDEs (e.g. Google Antigravity, Cursor, Windsurf) to speed up debugging and code generation.
- Location: You must physically live in the UK and possess a valid work permit (no Digital Nomads).
- Mindset: You are a problem solver who finds root causes rather than patching bugs. You are self-disciplined and communicate clearly - essential traits for our remote culture.
We compete on culture, mentorship, and stability rather than venture-backed burnout.
- Remote Freedom: Work from anywhere in the UK. We care about output, not hours in a chair.
- Work-Life Balance: Standard 35-hour working week (9am-5pm), with flexibility to reduce to 28 hours (4 days) to suit family life.
- Exceptional Leave: 38 days total holiday (28 days + 9 statutory holidays + your birthday off).
- Benefits: Pension scheme (5% contribution), Life Cover, and a budget for a high-spec work laptop (e.g. Mac Book, Dell XPS, Dell Pro Max Plus) after probation. Plus, we provide noise-cancelling headphones to ensure you have the peace needed for deep “flow” state work.
- LLM’s: All staff have access to Gemini Pro via our Google Workspace account. ChatGPT Pro or Claude Pro are also available if you have a preferred LLM.
- Our Ecommerce focus is primarily on Magento 2 with Hyvä Commerce.
- Our hosting partner is Sonassi Hosting with Cloudflare & New Relic.
Please submit your Linked In profile, CV along with a link to portfolio or Git Hub.
Note: We may ask for a small, paid code test (e.g., scoping a feature or fixing a bug) to demonstrate your approach to code quality and communication.
No recruitment agencies, please.
