The Role: Junior Software Engineer.

Salary: £25,000 - £30,000 per annum.

Location:This is a hybrid role, combining remote work with regular collaboration in our Derby office at least three days per week. (Applicants must have the right to work in the UK as we are unable to offer visa sponsorship).

Contract Type: Permanent

Hours:37.5 hours per week. Monday - Friday.

What will you be getting up to?

We are looking for an experienced software engineer to join our talented and innovative Engineering team working on the  website.

As a member of the team, you will be responsible for streamlining and enhancing the car buying journey for our customers. User experience and performance are critical and every millisecond counts. With spikes of around half a million requests per second across the eco-system, we’re looking for someone who is comfortable writing and optimising large scale, customer facing applications.

What do we need from you?

Essential skills:

• Knowledge of version control software (Git / Azure Dev Ops)
• Type Script / Java Script
• React / Next.js
• CSS / Sass
• Willingness to learn and advance their own knowledge

Desirable skills:

• .NET / C#
• SQL Server
• Rabbit MQ
• Experience of working in Agile environments
• Experience of working with a cloud provider (AWS / Azure)
• Experience of working with a CMS (Content Management System)
• Experience of working with a unit testing framework

The successful candidate will demonstrate:

• A logical approach to problem solving
• The confidence to work independently and as part of a team
• The ability to establish excellent working relationships with the existing IT team and across the wider business
