Who we are

Ellty is a secure document sharing and analytics platform that helps startups and VCs manage the entire fundraising lifecycle. We’re building the go‑to virtual data room and investor communication platform.

We’re a small but ambitious team serving thousands of founders, investors, and businesses worldwide. Our platform tracks how investors interact with pitch decks, manages due diligence documents, and provides page‑by‑page analytics that help founders close deals faster.

The opportunity

You’ll be our primary developer working directly with the founder. This means real autonomy – you’ll make architectural decisions, choose implementation approaches, and shape the technical direction of the product. No layers of management, no lengthy approval processes – just direct communication and quick decisions.

As a solo developer (or one of very few), you’ll own the entire development cycle. You decide how to structure the code, which libraries to use, and how to solve technical challenges. This is a rare opportunity to build a product your way while learning directly from a founder.

We have a dedicated Dev Ops engineer managing deployment, CI/CD, monitoring, and AWS infrastructure.

This is a contract position with a clear path to full‑time employment. As we grow, contractors who prove themselves move to permanent roles with full benefits, including health insurance, paid vacation, and equity participation.

What you’ll be doing

• Developing APIs and backend services with NestJS and MongoDB
• Implementing pixel‑perfect UI from Figma designs with responsive layouts
• Integrating third‑party services (Stripe, AWS S3, email providers)
• Optimizing document processing and real‑time analytics features
• Participating in code reviews and architectural decisions
• Collaborating with the product team on feature specifications
• Writing tests and documentation for your code

Who you are Must‑haves

• 1‑2+ years of experience with React (personal projects and open source contributions count!)
• 1 years of experience with Node.js and REST APIs
• Ability to implement responsive designs from Figma with attention to detail
• Reliable internet connection and overlap with Australian business hours (4‑6 hours)
• Self‑motivated and able to work independently

Nice‑to‑haves

• Experience with Next.js App Router and Server Components
• Knowledge of NestJS
