Role Summary
Near Source is looking for a seasoned Java Developer to join our backend engineering team. This role involves working on scalable services and API integrations for a project with a Fortune 500 client. The ideal candidate will bring hands‑on expertise in building high‑performance backend systems using Java, Spring Boot, and Microservices architecture.

Key Responsibilities

Develop, maintain, and optimize robust backend applications using Java and Spring Boot

Architect backend services with a focus on scalability, reliability, and maintainability

Design and implement RESTful APIs for integration with the frontend and external systems

Conduct peer code reviews, mentor junior developers, and enforce best coding practices

Troubleshoot and resolve production issues to ensure high system performance and availability

Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to translate business needs into technical specifications

Contribute to improving CI/CD pipelines and software delivery workflows

Write and maintain unit and integration tests to uphold code quality

Stay current with industry trends and incorporate best practices into development processes

Must‑Have Skills

Proficient in backend development using Java and Spring Boot

Hands‑on experience with Microservices architecture and design patterns

Strong understanding of RESTful API design and development

Experience in backend system performance optimization

Proficient with Git and build tools like Maven or Gradle

Familiarity with CI/CD tools and workflows (e.g., Circle

CI)

Strong problem‑solving skills, especially in production‑critical environments

Demonstrated ownership and accountability in delivering quality software

Nice‑to‑Have Skills

Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)

Exposure to cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP)

Experience with monitoring and observability tools
